March 2-6, 2026

Our learning this week:

  • We learned about the difference between "oo" in book and "oo" in root.
  • We did some imaginative writing! We had a choice between writing about a pet that could talk or a superpower we could have! Ask me about what I wrote!
  • We learned about non-fiction texts and read about Canadian cultures, celebrations, and symbols!
  • We learned more about fractions (how to tell and verify if something is one-half) and discussed the word "equal" a lot! We also did a 3D shape scavenger hunt in our classroom!
  • We learned about helpers and leaders in our community.
  • We learned about Ramadan and Holi and why friends in our class celebrate!
  • We went outside to look for signs of spring and learned about magpies (we found a nest!).
  • We listened to our buddies tell us about their story vines.
Next week, we will be watching the "Wild Robot" movie in class! We have almost finished the book and did a lot of learning to connect the Wild Robot with our science curriculum! We will be celebrating our learning by watching the movie in class.

STUDENT INVOLVED CONFERENCES

Parent-Teacher Conference

All families are asked to book a 15-minute conference time on March 19 or March 20 for our Student-Involved Conferences. Please sign up through your MyCBE Parent Account.

During the conference, your child will share their learning with you. Teachers will connect the work being shown to the report card marks and comments that were shared on February 24.

If you have not yet downloaded your child’s report card, please do so through your MyCBE Parent Account before your conference time.

These conferences are an important part of home–school communication. They help ensure students and families clearly understand progress so far and the next steps in learning.

We hope all families can attend. Please make every effort to book a time on one of these two days.
