Hi Families!
UFLI is a wonderful resource for children and they follow similar plans to our learning in class. They have created a variety of resources to help develop reading and writing skills at home. With each of these resources, please follow along with our blog to ensure that you are practicing the same skills that we are currently working on in our classroom.
Additional learning websites for reading and writing are Teach Your Monster and Epic! Books.
For math, you can use websites such as ABCYa and Toy Theatre to help support their understanding of patterns, shapes, and numbers. When practicing numbers, please practice counting to 100, counting backwards from 20, and skip counting (by 2s to 20; by 5s to 100; by 10s to 100).
Thank you for everything you do for your children and the support you provide to them!

This week we learned about:
- The digraph /th/ and how it can make an unvoiced sound like in the the word "thin", and the voiced sound like in the word "that" or "this".
- We wrote about a character creatively.
- We learned and practiced our heart words.
- We practiced our counting and skip counting in our math centres and classroom learning.
- We learned how to label and draw a Canada Goose.
- We read our book "The Wild Robot" and learned that Roz (the robot) had help from the beavers to create her nest for herself and Brightbill. To show our learning, we built our own nests out of loose parts materials!
- We experimented with snow and predicted what might happen when we leave it inside.
