October 29 - 31, 2025
Our learning this week:
- We caught up on our letter learning this week. We focused on the letters r, e, and l. We focused on the heart words 'see' and 'and'.
- We finished our learning about shapes and are moving into numbers next week.
- We did some fun Halloween themed math centres to begin practicing our numbers!
- We learned about the October moon and how it relates to Indigenous history and cultures.
- We did some pumpkin art today around the story "Stumpkin".
If you are wanting to support learning more at home, please take a look at these resources:
- Reading daily with your child - and having them read to you - is a great way to support their reading skills! You can even say, “I’m having trouble reading this word. Can you help me?”, and have them help you sound out the sounds.
- There is a great app/website called “Teach Your Monster”. It helps your child to sound out letter sounds, read words, and even learn some math skills! The website is free on a computer, but if you use an iPad you will have to purchase the app.
- Another great website to look at for reading books is Epic! Books. There are time restrictions when using this website for free, and students can read during 9:00 - 3:00 for free each day.
