Our learning this week:
  • We learned about the letters o, m, n, and k. We learned how to print these letters, where they are on the sound wall, and what sounds they make.
  • We wrote about our weekends.
  • We learned about shapes and their different attributes. For example, a square has four sides that are all the same, but a rectangle has 2 long sides and 2 short sides. We explored new math centres this week focused on shapes!
  • We continued learning about season and how we can determine what season is what. We went outside and used our senses to see changes in fall. We drew pictures of what we saw, smelled, heard, or felt.
  • We did a lot of learning about Orange Shirt Day and Truth & Reconciliation week! We learned about residential schools and the importance of Orange Shirt Day. We also saw our display in the Prairie about Orange Shirt Day with the buffalo, and sat around the buffalo robe to learn about how the Indigenous people showed respect to the buffalo. We had a sharing circle and learned why Indigenous people share in circles.
  • We wrote how we feel at school on orange ribbons to tie up in front of our school to honour Orange Shirt Day 🧡
